Mountaintop Removal Debate
The Forum on the Future of Energy - Jan. 21, 2010
Last night the CEO of Coal Giant Massey Energy, Don Blankenship, and Environmental attorney, advocate, and President of Waterkeeper Alliance, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. squared off in a debate over mountaintop removal.

"The moderator, University of Charleston’s president Ed Welch, said his aim was to push to participants to “get beyond their talking points and into a thoughtful engagement with one another.” While the two didn’t break far form the familiar rhetoric that we’ve come to expect from each respectively, the exchange was impassioned and engaging.
Much of their arguments focused on the economy. Appealing to “average” Americans, throughout the debate, each claimed to be the champion of the working man while trying to paint the opponents position as a destructive force in the economy."
