Baykeeper Patrol and Protect Fund

At every giving level, your contribution to the Baykeeper Patrol and Protect Fund makes a positive impact on the Mobile Bay Watershed and our coastal communities.

By the numbers

The Baykeeper Patrol Program drives our efforts to research and address the environmental concerns YOU see in your neighborhoods, on your daily commutes or at your favorite fishing and swimming holes. Concerns can be reported here.

We have set a goal of raising $50,000 before the end of the year to fund the following:

  • $500 - Collect critical data and inspect potential pollution issues providing the ability to track, research, and resolve reported pollution in our communities.

  • $1,500 - Complete comprehensive facility reviews including testing outfall pipes and addressing pollution issues.

  • $2,500 - Equip us with an inflatable boat with an 8hp motor to navigate in small waterways to quickly investigate issues.

  • $3,500 - Allow us to conduct source tracking on waterways flagged with high bacteria levels to stop pollution at the source.

  • $5,000 - Enable us to sample fish tissues to determine if toxic pollution is landing on our dinner plates.

  • $7,500 - Allows us to buy a tool to instantly read important water quality information to help understand overall health of the Bay.

  • $10,000 - Purchase a Jon Boat to patrol, remove litter, and sample in shallow waterways.

  • $15,000 - Purchase a work truck to tow the boat and kayak trailer.

Our well-trained team answered 66 community concerns this year already. They heard your call, inspected the problem, and took more than 300 samples to inform and develop solutions to these issues. A well-trained team with the tools to effectively address problems as they arise ensures the health, vibrancy, and beauty of our rivers for future generations.

Please consider making an additional tax-deductible contribution to help in advancing our mission for clean water, clean air, and healthy communities by supporting our Baykeeper Patrol and Protect Fund.
