Apple Snail Roundup

  • Langan Park 4901 Zeigler Boulevard Mobile, AL, 36608 United States (map)

Langan Park. 9 a.m. to 11 a.m

Join us to help remove the apple snail, an invasive species, from our local waterways. This is a fun, family-friendly event where volunteers will help find and capture adult and juvenile apple snails, as well as remove apple snail eggs.

Volunteers with canoes, kayaks, or small boats are particularly needed so we can roundup as many snails as possible. Please bring a life jacket for children 12 and under.

A prize package made up of gear from Mobile Baykeeper & Red Beard’s Outfitters will be awarded to the individual and to the team/group* who rounds up the most apple snails. *(A team/group is defined as 5 or less individuals working together.)

Please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting a little wet or dirty. All cleanup supplies and drinks will be provided.

For more information, please contact Chad Chappell at cchappell@mobilebaykeeper.org or call 251-433-4229.

*Please come and go as your schedule permits.
